Where to find people to play Big Walk with

Big Walk has no matchmaking, so every session starts with a Join Code from someone. Here are the three places people actually organise, and how to post.

Three places with people in them

None of the three is run by House House or Panic. Big Walk has no official community server and no matchmaking, so everything below is organised by players.

Say these four things in your post

Most unanswered group posts are missing one of these. Including them turns a post nobody can act on into one somebody can.

The language you will be speaking
This is the filter that actually matters, and the one most posts leave out. Crossplay works across every platform, so which console you own decides nothing — but a group that cannot talk to each other cannot solve a single puzzle in this game. Put the language in the title, not buried in the body.
How many you already have
A world is sized at 2, 3, or 4-plus when it is created, and the size stays with the session. Two people looking for a third is a different request from two people wanting a full group.
Your region, timezone and a window
Not "tonight" — a region people recognise (EU, NA, Asia), an actual range, and the timezone it is in. This is the single most common reason a group post goes nowhere.
Voice or text
The game supports both. Saying which you want up front saves everyone the awkward first five minutes.

A post you can copy

A title plus six lines, all four things covered. The title matters most — it is all anyone scrolling a board actually reads, and the posts that get answered put the world size, region and language right there in it.

Title: 4+ EU/English, starting Saturday evening

Language: English
Group so far: 2 of us
Looking for: 2 more — we want a 4+ world
When: Saturday, 8–11pm UK time (GMT+1)
Voice or text: voice preferred, text is fine
Notes: first playthrough, please no spoilers

Two things this leaves out on purpose. There is no platform line, because crossplay makes it irrelevant — saying "PS5 only" turns away people who could have joined you. And the "no spoilers" line does more work than it looks like: Big Walk is built around puzzles, and a stranger who has already finished it will otherwise solve them out loud in the first hour.

If you are not looking for an English group

Big Walk's puzzles are built on talking to each other, so the language your group speaks decides more than any setting in the game does. Non-English groups do form — they are just harder to find, and some languages have a much thinner crowd than others.

Steam's board is the one that carries other languages
Of the three venues, the Steam discussion hub is where non-English group posts actually appear — Russian and Chinese threads sit alongside the English ones. Check the rules of the subreddit and the Discord before posting in another language there; neither is a safe assumption.
Put the language in the title, in that language
Someone scrolling a board for their own language is scanning titles for their own script. A Chinese or Russian title gets found by the people who can answer it; the same request written in English inside the post does not.
Add one English line if you can
A title in your language plus a single English line — world size, region, and that you are looking — widens who can answer without costing you the people you were aiming at. Bilingual players read both.
Expect to wait longer, and repost
A smaller language pool means fewer people scrolling at any moment, not fewer people overall. A post that got nothing is usually a timing problem rather than a demand problem — repost in your own evening hours rather than giving up on it.

Before you play with strangers

Voice chat with people you have never met is the part of this game that most needs thinking about beforehand, and it is worth two minutes.

Voice is not required
Big Walk supports text chat as well as proximity voice. If you would rather not talk to strangers, say so in your post — it is a normal request and it filters for people who are fine with it.
The host decides who stays
Whoever created the world can remove people from it. If you are the one gathering a group of strangers, being the host is the safer side of that to be on.
Treat a Join Code as semi-public
Anyone who has the code can use it while the session is open. Posting one on a public board invites whoever reads it, not only the person you were talking to.

Questions people ask before they post

There are only two of us. Is that enough?

Yes. Two is the minimum, and a 2-player world is one of the sizes the game offers when you create a session. You do not need to find ten strangers to start.

Nobody replied to my post. What now?

Check that all four things are in it — platform, group size, timezone with a window, and voice or text. If they are, repost at a different time of day: a post written at 3am in the venue's main timezone gets seen by almost nobody.

Do I have to use voice chat?

No. The game supports text chat alongside proximity voice. Say which you want in your post so you match with people who want the same thing.

Can I find people through the game itself?

No. Big Walk has no matchmaking and no server browser — there is no in-game way to meet strangers. Everyone you play with is someone you arranged with beforehand, which is why these venues exist.

We cannot all make the same evening. Can we split it up?

Yes, but the save belongs to whoever hosted, so that person has to be online for the group to continue the same world. Pick your host with the schedule in mind rather than by who has the best connection.
