Big Walk Train Guide: Blue Tower and Big Ride
Start the train in Big Walk by completing the Blue Tower, shaping its key and using it at the station. Includes fixes when the train does not move.

Quick answer
The train does not start from a carriage control. Complete five challenges, carry their rewards to the receiver at the top of the Blue Tower, and take the blank blue key through all five cutters. Use the finished key in the lock at the main train station. Three carriages then begin circling the island; board one after it starts moving to unlock Big Ride.

Find the Blue Tower before testing the train
A station beside an inactive carriage looks like the obvious starting point, but the railway is the reward for completing the Blue Tower route. Use the blue beacon and the rail corridor as landmarks, or check the island model after opening the Map Room.
The Yellow tunnels are a useful shortcut into the Blue region after they open, but community walkthroughs agree they are not required. From the starting side, keep the blue beacon in sight and climb toward the tower instead of following every branch beside the tracks.
Deliver five puzzle rewards to the Blue Tower
At the top of the Blue Tower is a receiver with five slots. Complete five eligible challenges and physically place one released reward in each slot. Solving a room is not enough if its reward is still lying beside the puzzle.
The exact jobs inside nearby challenges can change with the host’s 2-player, 3-player or 4-plus world. Count the filled receiver slots and use Map Room flags rather than copying a fixed five-puzzle list from another world size.
- Visit the receiver first so everyone knows the return landmark.
- Return rewards in small batches instead of carrying all five loose items.
- Check the most recent puzzle when one slot remains empty.
- Keep one player responsible for the key after the fifth reward.
Take the blue key through all five cutters
The fifth reward releases a blank blue key. It is not ready for the train lock. Follow the arrow from one cutter to the next and wait for each machine to finish before moving on.
Players repeatedly miss a cutter because an arrow appears to point across the ridge while the next machine sits below a ledge or beside a nearby rock. Search the ground around the last arrow before carrying the key farther away.
Use the finished key at the main station
After the fifth cut, bring the shaped key to the railway lock at the main station or terminus. Insert it and wait for the activation sequence. Three carriages should begin circulating around the island loop.
Finding the platform, standing inside a parked carriage or pressing a control before the key route is complete will not activate the system. If nothing moves, work backward through the receiver, five cutters and final lock.
Board a moving train for Big Ride
Big Ride triggers from boarding a carriage after the railway is active, not from reaching the station. Let a moving carriage arrive, step or jump aboard, and stay on it long enough for the achievement to register.
The train is deliberately slow, but it becomes a useful shortcut for regrouping and later puzzle cleanup. Agree on the next landmark before boarding so half the group does not leave at a different stop.
Why the Big Walk train is not moving
Most inactive-train reports come from one unfinished progression step. Check the chain in order instead of repeatedly using the carriage controls.
- Blue receiver has fewer than five rewards — return to the last solved challenge.
- Key still looks unfinished — retrace the cutter arrows and search below ledges.
- Finished key is still being carried — take it to the main station lock.
- Train moves but Big Ride is missing — board a carriage after it is already moving.

Hint: the train controls are the final stepShow a hint
Look for the five-slot receiver at the Blue Tower. The key it releases still needs to follow every cutter arrow before the station will accept it.

Deliver five puzzle rewards to the receiver at the top of the Blue Tower, collect the blank blue key, use all five cutters, and insert the finished key at the main station. Wait for the three carriages to move, then board one to unlock Big Ride.
Frequently asked
How do you start the train in Big Walk?
Fill the Blue Tower receiver with five puzzle rewards, take the released key through all five cutters and use the finished key at the main station lock.
How many rewards does the Blue Tower need?
Five. Count filled receiver slots because a solved puzzle reward may still be lying at its challenge.
Where do you use the blue train key?
After all five cuts, use it in the railway lock at the main station or terminus.
Why is the train not moving in Big Walk?
One of the progression steps is incomplete: five rewards at the Blue Tower, five key cutters, or the final station lock.
How do you unlock Big Ride?
Activate the railway and board a carriage after it begins moving. Merely reaching the station does not trigger the achievement.
