Big Walk Drawbridge Puzzle: Four Gourds & First Key
Open the first Big Walk drawbridge by clearing four co-op puzzles, placing their gourds, copying the key shape and using the finished key at the bridge.

Quick answer
Complete the four challenges around the starting area in any order and carry each red gourd to the four holders beside the locked key. Take the blank key that appears, copy the target shape shown by the five nearby viewing devices, then use the shaped key at the drawbridge lock. If the key is rejected, one of its sections does not match the displayed silhouette.

Finish all four puzzles around the starting area
The drawbridge is the first progression gate. Its four nearby challenges teach the game’s basic language: one player sees information another cannot, several bodies can reach a high control, a signal points toward a remote object, and some switches must be held together.
You can solve them in any order. The useful progress check is the row of holders beside the key mechanism, not whether the group remembers visiting a building.
- Blue panel room — the trapped player reads the pattern while the outside player arranges the panels and uses the switch.
- Yellow structure — stack players so the top person can reach the high control.
- Red-light signal — one player holds the control while another follows the light to its cave destination.
- Green columns — put one player at each active column and press the switches together.
Carry the four red gourds to the key mechanism
Each completed challenge releases a red reward that players usually call a gourd. Carry every reward back and place it in an empty holder. A solved room does not count until its reward reaches the mechanism.
If nothing happens after the fourth room, inspect the route back to each puzzle. A gourd left on the ground or beside its release box is the most likely missing step.
Copy the shape shown by the five viewing devices
Four placed gourds release a blank key. The lock does not want the blank; it wants the silhouette shown from five viewpoints around the key area. Three devices are close to the mechanism and two sit nearer the shoreline.
Assign one person to call the visible section and one to shape the key. Check every section from the same agreed orientation before carrying it away, because a mirrored shape can look correct until it reaches the lock.
Insert the finished key at the drawbridge
Follow the arrows toward the bridge and insert the finished key in the lock. The drawbridge lowers permanently for that host save and opens the main island route.
If the lock rejects it, return to the viewing devices and compare one section at a time. Repeating the four puzzles will not repair a key whose shape is wrong.
Frequently asked
How many puzzles open the Big Walk drawbridge?
Four opening-area challenges. Each releases one red gourd that must be placed beside the first key mechanism.
Can the four drawbridge puzzles be done in any order?
Yes. Their order does not matter; the bridge route advances when all four rewards are placed and the shaped key is used.
Why will the first key not open the drawbridge?
The released key is blank. Match all of its sections to the silhouette shown by the five nearby viewing devices before inserting it at the bridge.
